A Wish upon the Stars

When I was younger, I used to pray to be an adult. I prayed for my body to develop overnight into that of an adult so that my friends would look at me and be envious. (Silly me, huh?) Well, growing up now, I think I spent time focusing on the things that had not yet happened, instead of enjoying while it lasted.

To put it in a few words, I miss my childhood. I miss playing in the sun with my friends and making fun of people with big eyes and teeth, I miss closing the fridge slowly just so I could see when the lights went off, I miss looking forward to going out to the pool or the park. I miss riding my bicycle to the end of the street, I miss sitting in the moonlight and sharing folktales. Oh my, I do miss my childhood.

I’m still a young girl though, but in my generation, those things aren’t counted as fun anymore…well, maybe not for my generation. The cool things now are the popping Instagram pages and the best makeup and the best memes and slangs and ‘alladat’ (Sigh!). I think the teenage life now is basically digitized.

But I guess it’s not too late to still enjoy those things (well, maybe a more a more “adult-ish” version of them… He-he). I’d really love to go skydiving, mountain-climbing and bungee jumping. You’re probably thinking that I’m on a suicide mission, well, no. I just realized that even with work and stress and bills to pay and all of life’s struggles, we don’t have to be so uptight all the time. A little fun wouldn’t kill.

We only get one shot at life, it’s best to make that shot count; but at least have fun while doing it! 😉
